about

Eva is my mother and the relationship with her was very emotional and a great identification. I think that my personality was determined by her, and yet, because of her premature death, many questions remained in my mind and I think that through this work I try to convey this feeling that I lived with her and her death. I composed these works in the first months of 2013.
It seems to me that it is a different musical concept than the one I've done in past projects. The works that I present in this recording have elements that I had not used before, I refer to the handling of the sound that combined with the Tempo and some harmonic elements I could create a state of contemplation that characterizes almost all this work. Elements such as Slow Tempo, long notes, soft dissonances and silence were used, in addition to the contrast between acute and serious notes to create this concept that seems to me to have a lethargic character.
The endowment of instruments that I use in this recording are the ones that best accommodate me to compose: Cello and Oboe. I have used them in different recordings and I have been fortunate to meet two excellent performers: Mónica del Águila (Cello) and Francisca Ettlin (Oboe), of whom I have always had their support and an enormous willingness to work together. With Francisca I have worked since the second recording (The Universe of the Minimum / 2003) and with Monica since the recording 30 Reasons to Fly in 2005. Just several years ago I made this recording that seems very special and very personal in the whole concept.
